  报告人简介:

Prof. Stephen Dalton obtained his B.Sc in Biochemistry and Cell Biology from Flinders University of South Australia 1984 and then his Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from University of Adelaide in 1988. He completed his postdoctoral training through working with Dr. Richard Treisman at Imperial Cancer Research Fund in London UK from 1989 to 1992. Prof. Stephen Dalton became a faculty member at Roche Institute of Molecular Biology, Nutley, New Jersey from 1992-1996 and then went back to his home institution (University of Adelaide) as senior lecturer till 2003. Since 2003, he has been a full professor in Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at University of Georgia. He serves as Director of The Center for Molecular Medicine, University of Georgia since 2012. Currently, he serves as an editorial member for a number of internationally prestigious journals, including Faculty of 1000, Regenerative Medicine, and Stem Cells. His laboratory is mainly interested in the basic biology of pluripotent cells, including mouse and human embryonic stem cells (ESCs) and induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) and their directed differentiation to different cell types. He is an internationally well-known expert in stem cell research.
