Dr. Chunnnian Zhao received her PhD degree from Dept. Biochemistry of Zurich University under the supervision of Dr. Peter Sonderegger. Dr. Zhao then did her postdoctoral training at University of Toronto with a focus on the molecular mechanism of mental disorder, such as Bipolar disorder. Dr. Zhao became interested in neural stem cells, a source to treat neural disorder during her study and moved to Beckman Institute in Los Angeles as a research follow to study neural stem cells and microRNAs, a new class of regulators for gene expression. She became a faculty of California State University and has published papers in journal including Nature Structural & Molecular Biology, PNAS and Nature Cell Biology since 2009.
